Greenwood

On this page you will find important information and some useful tips and tricks to support your child in P1.  We have included slides from our parent information session which provide an overview of learning and other general areas in P1 at Greenwood.

This year, we are using the Letterland programme and will often refer to rhymes and songs in homework tasks.  The letter formation handwriting songs and alphabet songs that we mention, can be accessed via Spotify, iTunes etc.  These tracks will not only help with the pronunciation of letter sounds but also reinforce the learning that takes place in school.  We would appreciate if you do not teach the sounds ahead as this may interfere with children’s enjoyment in school.  There are some helpful Letterland images (which match our Letterland name cards) included on this page that you may wish to use with your child at home.
